Senegal: Christian Radio Stations

Since 2018, our teams have been working to provide access to Christian programming with radio stations strategically placed throughout Senegal. Radio is a useful tool in this context because the number of believers is minimal, and there aren’t enough missionaries to cover the country.  Leer Gi (The Light) FM 97.9 offers an evangelical faith perspective with highly contextualized content. Programs are broadcast with Senegalese hosts, in the local language, and with local music, and presented in ways that people understand and accept. The beauty of radio in this predominantly non-Christian region of West Africa is that Leer Gi has the potential to reach more than 1 million people.
