Uganda: Transformation Ministry Center
God has given us a BIG dream and vision for building a Training and Equipping Ministry Center!
Together building lives and a better future in Eastern Uganda through Bible Training, Christ-centered skills centers for vulnerable girls and community development.
THE NEED:
Working in rural Eastern Uganda over the past few years has given us insight into the real needs of local pastors and villagers.
BIBLE: Lack of access to solid Bible training for pastors and Christ-centered vocational training and discipleship for vulnerable teen girls tops the list.
Centralized: Having done the majority of our work traveling out to remote villages, we now see the need for a rural but centralized ministry base. Though we’ll still bring our training out to the underserved, we see the great benefit of bringing them to us as well.
VULNERABLE GIRLS: Some girls attending our schools have been staying in less than adequate living conditions in order to be near the schools. Therefore, one of our first priorities is to build housing for our girls to stay in a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered environment.
THE IMPACT:
The Training and Equipping Ministry Center will be the home of:
– Bible Training for Pastors and Church Leaders.
– New Life Skills Center for girls (with boarding),
– Farming God’s Way Demonstration Plots,
– A Chapel,
– Various Sustainability Projects,
– Community Development Projects and more…
THE PLAN:
With your help, we plan to build in phases as the funds are raised. Will you help us reach our fundraising goals? Do you want to hear the GREAT news? An incredibly generous partner has already donated enough for the land and legal fees (before we even made this public! How great is our God?).
Phase 1: Build a road, a perimeter fence, a maintenance garage with a room for a guard, and latrines (bathrooms).
Phase 2: Classroom Block (4 classrooms + offices), kitchen with dining pavilion, more latrines, borehole (water well). At this point we will be able to welcome 25 new students!
Phase 3: A dorm for boarding 20-25 girls, shower/washing block, 12 sets of bunk beds and dressers (When this phase is complete we will be able to house our 1st group of boarding girls!)
Phase 4: Chapel/Dining Hall, Offices, Farming God’s Way Demonstration Plot, Additional Classrooms for Bible teaching and boarding.
Phase 5: Also, we will be building a simple but adequate home for the missionaries (Matt and Shelley) to live in full time. Depending on how funds come in will determine which phase the missionary residence will fit in.
