Contribute to a transformational initiative
Overseas Council Partner School COVID Relief:
Overseas Council is committed to raise $250,00 by the end of June for our Partner Stabilization Fund. Through this fund, we will be providing immediate, urgent support to partner schools. We do this in response to the financial impact brought about by the impact of COVID-19. There are the three critical needs:
- Some seminaries are providing housing and food for stranded students and also caring for the poor and needy in their cities.
- Many seminaries have cut the salaries of faculty and staff and face the risk of losing core teachers that are critical for the future.
- Almost all schools have shifted their courses online but now face technical challenges and the need to equip faculties in how to teach online.
By supporting this fund, supporters will help stabilize the momentum and impact that these schools are having in their focus to equip church leaders for ministry, strengthen churches, and help The Kingdom spread throughout Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and The Middle East.
Thank you for your generosity!
Cuba Faculty Development Program
The Church in Cuba has been growing rapidly. This initiative seeks to equip Cuban seminary faculties with skills to strengthen the new churches being planted. The program equips teachers with “training the trainer” skills which emphasize principles for developing and multiplying Christian leaders. More than 70 Cuban faculty members from six evangelical Cuban seminaries have earned graduate degrees through this program so far.
Ukraine Faculty Development Program
Before 2016 Ukrainian church leaders never had an opportunity for PhD level theological studies in the Ukraine. This project enables faculty members of evangelical Ukrainian seminaries to pursue doctoral degrees in theology without having to leave the country. Investing in the trainers of trainers now will have an impact on the health of the Ukrainian church for generations to come.
Leaders for the North African Church
Overseas Council is partnering with the emerging evangelical church in one North African nation to establish the first formal program for training pastors in the country. A number of growing leaders have completed a one-year certificate program and many of these are continuing as the first students in a theological degree program in the nation. These leaders already are leading churches in a difficult context and are greatly encouraged by this opportunity to grow in their biblical and theological understanding.
Books for Chinese Training Centers
In partnership with Chinese Christian scholars, Overseas Council has created a first-ever catalog of 2,000 priority student resources, all in Mandarin, that will strengthen the libraries of many seminaries and ministry training centers. With your help we will provide 400 of the most important books for each of the participating seminaries.
