Hannah will be living and serving with United World Mission under its Avance Mexico project for a minimum of two years. After becoming acculturated over the first several months by living with a host family, serving in their local church, and taking Spanish classes, she will begin working at a refuge home, El Pozo de Vida (The Well of Life), with teenage survivors of sex trafficking. Her role will include developing relationships with the girls, being a listening ear and a positive example in their lives. She will have the opportunity to lead them in Bible study and to teach them life skill(s) such as cooking, exercise, or music. Throughout the two years, she will continue serving her local church and ministering to her host family through relationship and mutual encouragement. There may be further opportunities for her to minister to college students or vulnerable populations of women and children as well.
- Boldness, passion, and assurance in my calling to Mexico City.
- Preparation mentally, emotionally, and spiritually for encountering the darkness of human trafficking and for this life transition.
- Deeper joy, trust, surrender, and intimacy with God. That I would grow in learning to give myself grace.
