Ethel Nelson

Ethel Nelson

Roy was called to be a missionary while a student at Bob Jones University. A missionary speaker at the college, Ruth Stahl, missionary to Brazil, gave stirring messages that touched Roy’s heart. He first heard her speak while a Freshman. When she returned to speak again in his Senior year, 1947, he gave in to the Holy Spirit’s call.

Roy was a Bible teacher at Las Palmas Bible Institute in Cabanas, Cuba. Forced out of Cuba after the Castro takeover, he went from Cuba to Guatemala. In Guatemala, he and Ethel were church planters, starting 6 churches in Guatemala City, now pastored by Guatemalan pastors.

Pray Requests:

  • Pray for grandson, Micah’s ministry in Guatemala. He has a feeding and discipleship ministry to children who exist by scrounging on the city dump. He also has a ministry to drug addicts and gang members.
