ESL Refugee Learning Center Team Leader (Clarkston, GA — a suburb of Atlanta)
For 65 years United World Mission has been sending missionaries to the unreached all around the world and over the last five years we have been building missionary teams to reach the unreached and unengaged refugees right here in North America. With more than 150 unreached peoples the harvest fields are plentiful for those passionate individuals and churches.
Clarkston, Georgia (a suburb of Atlanta) is noted for its ethnic diversity, and is often referred to as “the most diverse square mile in America” and “the Ellis Island of the South”. In the 1990s, refugee resettlement programs identified Clarkston as a good fit for displaced persons of many backgrounds. Many of these people have little or no knowledge of who Jesus is, and some have never heard.
As a team leader you will have a passion for living among refugees and unreached people groups, sharing Jesus stories with them, building lasting relationships, and meeting their physical and spiritual needs. You will need a heart for ministry, a vision to work on a team of others, a learning attitude, and the desire to be part of seeing churches started in refugee and UPG communities. Your training will include setting up, operating an ESL Language Center and leading other that are part of a team.
