Innovating to Reach the Unreached

Maria (name changed for security) is a 38-year-old woman from a North African country with just 3,000 known Christians out of a population of 11 million.  For years she had had doubts and questions about the Bible, and about the Quran. Mustering up the courage, she reached out to Christians online, and our team responded by explaining the differences between Islam and Christianity, and especially related to salvation and eternal life. The more she learned, the more determined she was to know more. We prayed with her, and afterward, she shared that she always knew there was something missing her faith couldn’t satisfy. Our team was able to share the gospel, we sent her a Bible, and we will be following up.

New believers face the possibility of aggression because of their new faith. In spite of the danger, our partners in North Africa and the Middle East have launched an online media project to share Christ with an unreached nation. The result? Thousands of “likes” and “follows” on social media, and private interactions with hundreds of people. These leaders are expecting growth to more than double in the next six months! Their determination to launch discipleship plans, evangelistic outreaches and prayer conferences is inspiring.

By God’s grace, this mighty movement is happening through partnerships between U.S. churches and our church in Cairo to advance the gospel among unreached Muslims through prayer, discipleship, evangelism, church planting, and holistic ministry. By identifying and empowering locally recognized church leaders, our hope and theirs is to see churches beginning to flourish, transforming neighborhoods and cities with the Kingdom of God!
