This is the Beginning of an Awakening

Did you know that 9 out of 10 churches worldwide are led by leaders that have not received adequate training?  That’s 90 out of 100 churches…900 out of 1,000.  This is staggering and a tremendous opportunity for the Global Church. In Operation World (if you have never looked at this resource you should), leadership development is listed as one of the top ten key issues warranting prayer.  Why is adequate training so important?  Because in the absence of sound leadership equipping, churches are wide open to heresies and self-inflated leadership. With the aid of adequate training, leaders are more prepared to flourish and to help their churches do the same.

Going Deeper

This week, consider engaging Scripture by reading Paul’s two letters to Timothy in the New Testament.  In these letters, Paul is equipping Timothy to be a leader in the Church.  Consider reading it in the Message translation.

Pray for the leaders of Ukrainian Churches.  In recent years, the number of Christians and churches has been increasing at a rapid rate.  Will you spend two minutes today praying for unity in these churches; and pray for the leaders of these churches to receive adequate training?
