Scripture says that God is merciful and just, that he cares for the poor, orphans and widows, and for all the broken and de-valued of the world. We are humbled to come alongside people with deep needs, knowing that we ourselves are deeply needy as well.
Jesus announced his ministry this way: “The Spirit of the sovereign Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4:18-19)
We help churches and Christian organizations witness through medical outreach, agricultural and clean water projects, efforts to stop human trafficking and to assist the victims, serving children-at-risk, and micro-finance initiatives.
At the center of “holistic ministry” is the concept of “integral mission.” Both word and deed are integral to announcing the biblical gospel! Proclamation and demonstration go together. Mercy and justice in action is part of the announcement of the Kingdom of God, just as is the message of repentance and the good news of the cross and resurrection.
