Following a time of war and genocide from 1998-2004, a US-Congolese partnership called the Congo Initiative formed the Christian Bilingual University of Congo (UCBC). UCBC offers a variety of degree programs taught in English and French, giving students access to a broad spectrum of academic resources from both major traditions. By providing emerging leaders with a new worldview, they are tackling issues such as: Peace and Racial Reconciliation, Ethical Leadership, Women’s Role in a New Congo, Technology Integration, and Environmental Sustainability.
UCBC is looking for a nonprofit grant writer with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Professional Writing, or a related field to serve as their Grants & Information Office. Coordinate proposals, donor report, and project knowledge management systems. Work in close collaboration with Congo Initiative staff and advisors in the DRC, USA, and UK to draft and edit proposals and reports. Coordinate compliance with various institutional donor rules and Congo Initiative policies and processes. Schedule evaluations, document success stories, and lead analysis of field experience to derive lessons learned. Outstanding grammar and research skills are needed in additional to excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills.
