My late husband Greg and I have served in Tijuana, Mexico since 1987. We partnered with Mexican leaders who care for impoverished children, the poor
and those coming out of drug addiction, forming “Team Tijuana.”

We work alongside three mission projects in Tijuana: Esperanza offers the hope of rehabilitation to men and women, Carretas Community Center
cares for children growing up near the dump, and Mi Primer Negocio gives loans so 150 women can develop small businesses to feed their children and
send them to school.

In May of 2014 our son Ian suffered a severe brain injury. We moved to Indianapolis to help him, but continued to commute to Tijuana. During that
time, we reached out to international students in Indianapolis. My husband died in 2018 and in 2020 my son, daughter and I moved to Colorado Springs
to be near my family.

After 8 years of living with brain tumors, Ian was finally healed in heaven. The losses I’ve experienced help me better relate to the new people God has
brought into my life: Afghan refugees. As I get to know and help them with English and life skills, I hear their stories, share mine, and share God’s
message – the best story of all.

Prayer Requests:

  • To equip Team Tijuana to be servant leaders with ministries that are rooted and built up in Christ, bearing fruit for God’s Kingdom.
  • That God’s love will flow through me to the people around me and they will be drawn to Jesus Christ.
  • For strategic use of time as I develop relationships with Afghan women and mobilize Christians to connect with them.
  • For my daughter Anna who has lost father, grandmother, and brother in the last five years.
