In the wake of the decline of Christianity, Europe has emerged as a post-Christian, pluralistic, secular, post-Modern and somewhat anti religious continent. United World Mission is connecting with local church leaders to help equip a new generation of leaders with a view to reaching and discipling those who have not yet heard the Gospel expressed in a relevant way. As the face of Europe is rapidly changing it is also deeply affected by wave upon wave of refugees. These immigrants, hearts filled with hope and despair, experiencing persecution, racism and rejection represent a massive opportunity for the Church to reach out in a holistic and missional way. United World Mission is partnering with local churches and European ministries to meet basic needs, provide education and counseling and to offer the love of Christ to these who have wagered and lost everything in hope of finding a better life. United World Mission is intentionally involved in evangelism, in Church-planting, in training, education, mentoring and discipling as it seeks to help his Church in Europe meet the challenge of the day.

Where We Work

Czech Republic

Despite its Christian heritage, most Czechs today are unaware of their country’s Christian legacy and view the Church with skepticism. The small evangelical community is seeking creative ways to reach Czechs and draw them into a deep, mature relationship with God. We serve with local churches to strengthen leadership development and discipleship as well as to establish relationships with nonbelievers through creative outreach programs.

England

Secularism and Islam are growing in England, while Christianity is on the decline. The Church is praying for a spiritual revival of the whole nation to bring it back to its faith in Christ. We work with local believers in the areas of outreach and evangelism to recapture this nation’s heart for Jesus.

Germany

Germany is an economic and intellectual powerhouse, but spiritually poor. The Church is striving to rekindle a passion for the Lord and to reach the influx of immigrants with the Gospel. We partner with local churches, a seminary, and a German mission agency to evangelize, disciple, and establish churches among Germans and the immigrant population.

Hungary

After the fall of the Communist bloc in the early 1990s, Hungary became very open to the gospel. Unfortunately, that door has closed. There is a need to strengthen existing churches for witness and new forms of church, so that Hungarians can see the Gospel lived out in community. We partner with an international Christian school, local churches, and outreach ministries such as Alpha to develop leaders and disciples.

Scotland

Scotland wrestles with poor economic, education, and health systems combined with numerous social ills. The Church hungers for a spiritual revival to breathe a fresh, new spiritual life into this nation. We work with local medical practitioners and dental professionals in partnership with a medical student outreach program to strengthen churches and their discipleship of professionals in Scotland.

Spain

The Catholic Church lost its religious monopoly with the fall of Franco’s dictatorship in the late 1970s, opening doors to growing evangelical influences. Evangelical churches tend to be small but highly committed to Christ and to evangelism. We partner with a Spain-based sending agency that mobilizes Latins to the Muslim world, focusing on planting churches and discipling believers.

United Kingdom
